ORGANIC COTTON

Algonatural organic cotton

What is organic cotton?

The Organic cotton cultivation rules are very restrictive. The latter, in fact, is grown using methods and materials that have a low environmental impact, following the rules of organic farming, just like food products. The basis of a textile certification attesting to the organic origin of the fabric is the exclusion of hazardous pesticides and many harmful substances commonly used in the production chain. Furthermore, reducing the amount of water and energy used contributes to improving soil quality, preserving its biodiversity. Growing organic cotton is sustainable, ecologically and ethically, both environmentally and socially.

Why do the two fibers mix?

  • The main purpose is to improve the feel and strength of Merino wool, Indeed, silk must be added in small percentages, (20-30%) so as not to distort wool; this makes it even softer and much more pleasant on the skin.
  • Silk helps increase the flexibility of the fibers and consequently reduces allergy and irritation phenomenaAnd.
  • Another advantage is that of make this product more wear-resistant, as well as hotter e less prone to felting.
  • Also in the spinning phase, silk provides significant benefits; the thread is much more regular, the resistance is far superior and the titles are thinner and more valuable of those that can be obtained with Merino wool alone.

Attention!

Higher silk percentages to those indicated, They are not a good sign, but they are an indicator of low quality wool and therefore, paradoxically, a lower-quality product. In fact, the lower the percentage of silk, the higher the quality of the wool; remember, it's the wool that gives the fabric its soft feel, as it's the predominant fiber; the added silk serves to elevate the product to excellence.
